I wonder if we will ever hear from him again, And a update for maximus arcade ....
-
Last I heard, he was upset on the fact that his MA program was being pirated so much online. I think he gave up.
It's too bad... I ---smurfing--- love MA and have been a true fan/follower for years.
The guy actually produced some quality stuff, and it's saddens me that it's all toss in the wind now.

hyperspin too loud and obnoxious for me.....would love to stay with maximus, but its getting hard with lack of support

I know this is an old topic, but if anyone could answer the following question, it could help others heading this way...
I have an OLD version of MA on my machine, if I was to update to the newest version, will my registration code still work??
I don't want to install it to find it's all no-go and lose all my settings etc...
-
What version do you have? I can't remember exactly what version switched over to the new encryption, but generally speaking if your registration code is 31 digits, you are using an old version. The newer versions of Maximus have 16 digits (hyphenated).
So if you already have a 16 digit code you're good to go and can upgrade to 2.10 FINAL. Otherwise, you're out of luck, since support has stopped.
Hope this helped.

Will this ever be alive again. can anyone get hold of mameseer, I'm using hyper spin nowand love it.but like the simplicity of maximus and is ideal for low end pc systems in cabinets if only there was another update just to iron out the last few bugs.

oh great, I just registered this last week. I didn't know he abandoned it.
it was working fine last time I tried it, then I registered it and now none of the games will load. just makes a noise when I try then does nothing.
I guess that was a waste of $25

Can you do a dispute via Paypal?
-
maybe, but i doubt I'll bother. I suppose if he got hosed by piracy I can afford to eat 25 bucks.
I wish I knew why the games won't load anymore though.
-
That's not fair to you, though. You paid in good faith. He should either take down his software, honor your payment, or refund your money. You have every right to request a refund. I would do it.
-
thats assuming he would even respond. doesn't seem like he will. I sent a couple emails to two different email addresses after looking at the forum and seeing all the threads locked and nothing posted in some time.

He might of been upset by a little piracy but what is going on now might as well be theft. The responsible thing to do at this point would be to take down the maximus website.

If you paid via Paypal, open a dispute. He doesn't need to respond to you in order for you to get a refund.
And I agree with Circo take down the site if you are no longer going to be giving out codes.

I had this same problem about a month ago when I was getting my cabinet up and going.
I was running Maximus and my emulators from a USB drive (originally set it up with my laptop). I simply copied everything over to the arcade PC and that's when nothing loaded. I got a weird noise and nothing happened. All my other controls worked perfectly when I tested (tried a keyboard as well). Nothing worked.
Finally I reinstalled Maximus Arcade and input my registration code. It worked perfectly after that. Hope you have something figured out before now but if not, give this a try!

Wish he would just shut down the website now, or put some warning on it saying no longer supported.
This project is long dead and very out of date for new emulators
