Title: Dreamcast to Arcade Monitor
Post by: JoJoRockets52 on September 06, 2011, 05:29:32 pm
Hi, I have been wanting to hook my Dreamcast to my VGA monitor (i have the DC VGA Box and was planning on doing the 15khz mod for it)  and before I started i had a few questions.

First I was wondering how to make the VGA breakout cable to connect to my monitor (wells gardner 19k7602).

Second I was wondering how i connect the breakout cable to my Monitor.

Where is a good place to find a diagram identifying the wires I need to connect to my monitor?

I would really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. I really don't want to screw up my only arcade monitor.

I was really hoping to do the VGA style because I already have all the supplies. Would this really be easier and give me the 15khz signal?

If you've already got the VGA box, just do the 15k mod (it's one wire) on your Dreamcast VGA box then use a VGA breakout cable.  You may also need a video amp.

The dreamcast VGA box normally outputs separate, positive sync.  JAMMA uses composite, negative sync.  Fortunately, your k7000 has inputs for all styles.  Just use the two positive sync inputs.

So where do I wire the cables from the VGA breakout?
