So I have searched the forum for quite a bit and there doesn't seem to be a good answer to how to do this on DIY jukebox.
Has anyone done this and had it work out well?
Naturally I would prefer the style that goes up and arcs over but that doesn't seem to be possible based on the threads I have read.
If I just wanted a vertical column on each side what do you guys think about "cheating" and getting 2 of these

I never had much luck when I was considering the same for my project. At one time I did find lighting that was essentially a solid lexan tube with airbubbles in it, but it was of course fixed no free bubbling.
You might try using a chasing or programmable led string to simulate it.

Hi Greg,
At the price you are talking for those effects you might as well get the oil tubes that are used on Rowe Ami & Rockola for their one more time jukeboxes.
I assume that you are in the USA so get from Rowe Ami or Rockola distribution or try at www.victoryglass.com (http://www.victoryglass.com)

Here's what I was looking at previously. Not a true bubbler:
