Title: True MK3/MK4 Button Layout & pics of my Multi MK cab
Post by: Savannan on August 27, 2011, 01:39:53 pm
Have a MK2 CP that Im converting to MK3/MK4 button style layout..I was surfing and came across this.  I would like it to be 100% accurate.  Is this what the true dimentions are?  They look like it.... Anyone have a old CPO or CP that they could verify to this JPG...

Thanks a million!!!!!!!
Sav

PS. I screen captured the PDF file that had this pic. I take NO CREDIT on making this.

Title: My Multi-MK Project (so far)

Just wanted to show some pics of my Multi MK machine that Im making.

I've always wanted a MK machine.  I finally picked up a very nice MK2 cab for $500.  The lady that I bought it for said it was in excellent shape and was trying to get rid of it on EBAY for $550.  I emailed her said told her that I would buy it for $475.  She came back with a email stating that if she didn't sell it, their is this guy in SAN DIEGO that would buy it for $550 plus $300 to ship.  I told her it probably was a scam and pointed out a few messages on this board about scammers.  She finally said ok $500.  Went downstate to pick it up and it wasnt in EXCELLECT shape but rather in very good shape.  I rate it about a 8 or 8.5.

Here is a short video I made of the MK2 cab that I picked up

I posted a message on here on wether to make it a multi MK cab or keep it orginal.

After reading some posts and thinking about it....I decided to make it a MULTI MK...The reason being is that I don't have the room for the other 4 MK cabs that I would need to fullfil my collection.  LOL...

I started to strip everything and clean it.  Even painted the insides black..(glad that I painted the insides)..very clean looking.

In this thread you can see my cab from the back...all sanded down.  Thanks to Q*Bert_OP, I found out that a POPEYE pinball machine was used to make a wooden bracket for my PCB slide mount.

I placed a order with GoG for the custom graphics.  Vlad is a MK fan so he helped my out termendously.  He is very good at what he does.  He asked me what characters that I likes to play and told him Kano, Scorpion, Baraka and Kable.  He made up the 1st proof and sent it to me

After thinking about it...I wanted a good side (Kabal, Scorpion) and a bad side (Quan Chi and Baraka)...So Vlad make up this....he also cented the KOLLECTION a little more to the right.

Doing to research I found out that Scorpion was actually NEUTRAL...So I had him removed and Vlad put in Raiden.

If you notice....since this is a Multi MK project..I wanted to showcase 1 person from each of the series... MK1=Raiden MK2=Baraka M3=Kabal MK4=Quan Chi.   I'm very happy on how this turned out.

Here are some Pics of my cab so far....please bare-in-mind that I'm not done yet.  I still have to redo the control panel/wiring... On the side of the control panel where is says MIDWAY...I would have that white/grey mist on there with a red MIDWAY so it doesnt look out of the place as it does now...

My goal is to make this one of the better Multi MK's out there.  I have no plans to put in MK9.. This is strickly 1-4 (or unless they release another MK that is JAMMA).   I have pull out shelves.  Goin to use colored wire loom to make it easier to identify wires for each pcb.  Thinking about putting 2 of those red led 250mm fans on the cab..one on top and the back panel.

The only problem that I might be facing is that I really like the MK logo that I have for the marquee...I wanna use that for the graphic for the control panel but BBB's MK cab already has that...but instead of having 2 logos, I would have 1 in the center.  I really really really would hate to copy his layout "style" but I dunno...any ideas?

Thanks all for all the help you are giving me.  I just wanted to show you guys that your answers are not being unheard.  Thanks again!

Sav...

PS.  I have to give a big ass shout-out to Evan Williams in Tennessee.  I believe hes a member on here.  He gave me a killer deal on UMK3 PCB, and possible some other MK PCB's ..he treaded me like Im part of his family.  :applaud:   I appricate it man.

Awesome Cabinet! Did you just apply the new artwork over the old or did you strip the old artwork off first?  Also how much was it to print the artwork and how much did he charge you for the design of it??

K, I got around measuring my MK2 CP..it is pretty exact if anyone cares....I have no drawing skills...the schematic may look a little cryptic but its not that hard to figure out.
enjoy...

Are those measurements to the centers of the holes? Or edges?
