Title: Where to put power on button on cabinet?
Post by: equlizer on August 27, 2011, 05:01:01 am
I finally proudly own a bartop (pics coming soon) and dont know where to put the power switch (im using a button to power on the motherboard)  I already have 6 buttons per player and 5 menu buttons on the top (where the sticks are) so i dont want it there as it could be an accidental press  :banghead:

Where would you put it?

I always put the button on the back of my bartops.   Easy access to drill and out of the way.

I've been wanting to get one of those magnetic contact switches used in home alarm systems and flush mount it underneath the laminate on the top, then have a little "key" with a magnet on it or a ring maybe that you just "wave" over the surface of the CP to turn things on.

Alohomora!

The guys :)  I flush mounted it in the back by the main power toggle (powers on the speakers, monitor, etc)

Mine's on the side; it's got a rubber covering so you have to give it a good firm press. But at some point I plan on converting it to something like this:
