As the topic name states, I'm looking for a 4/8 Way Switchable Joystick that can be switched from the top of the control panel. I've looked around for one and to no avail. All of the ones I've found on GGG have been sold out for quite some time it seems. I'm hoping someone on here can help me out in my search.
A ball top would be preferred, but not required.
Something like this:

Have you checked out Ultimarc's Mag-Stik Plus?
http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html)
Don't know what you're looking to spend, but they're $33 each plus shipping.

Also need to add another $14 if you want the ball-top. It comes with a bat-top but you can replace it with a ball-top.

I'm not surprised the Omni is out of production. That flange always scared me (think heavy Robotron session....), and it looks kind of ugly anyways. A hole you 'dial' with your finger would've been more suave.

I carry the magstick at arcadeemulator.net, if you need them
thanks

Once you get your joystick, you might want to try this http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=113249.msg1202802#msg1202802 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=113249.msg1202802#msg1202802)

I've modified the switches in mine. The ones Ultimarc used were very stiff, I replaced it with ones that actuate closer to the Cherry pressure (50 gram?). I've just recently acquired even lighter microswitches (20 gram) that I'm planning on replacing to see if I can make it even more responsive/lighter touch.
Here's a write-up I did on my mod:

Thanks.
I recently bought two mag-sticks and love them, but only after changing out/trimming lighter switches than the ones that shipped with it. Easy to do, really, and I was really glad I came across the above link in the forums.

FWIW, the folks who use them, love them, and we get plenty of requests for them when they go OOS. The lack of current availability is due to the fact that the parts we need to build them were mistakenly left at our old location, and we haven't returned to pick them up yet.
But they will likely become unavailable permanently, once our current stock of parts is depleted. The company we purchased our reasonably priced, laser cut metal parts from, could not keep the laser running, and decided to sell it. We have been unable to source the metal parts at anything remotely near the previous price, and the cost of the Suzo 500 upon which the unit is based, has also risen dramatically. This would price it out of the market to the point that it is not economically feasible to continue to offer them. We are considering options, however, to provide similar functionality with other less costly sticks and switching methods down the road.

Automatic servo based switching perhaps?
