Title: JPac control problem
Post by: jurulz on August 24, 2011, 10:05:19 pm
Hi,

I'm having problems with the j-pac.

first of all. I connected the j-pac using ps/2 cable with converter usb to ps/2 converter on a usb port of my computer (on the j-pac i've plugged the cable to the pc/kb connector). Because it doesnt work on the ps/2 ports. I connect my keyboard using a ps/2 to usb converter on the KEYBOARD connector

the j-pac only works with:

The 2 joysticks
Start for player one and two
and the High punch for second player

My pc setup:

Acer pc with windows XP 32 bits
Sempron Processor 3800+
ArcadeVGA 3000

Arcade:

It's a mortal kombat transformed to mortal kombat 3.

the control panel is the original without modification and work with jamma games....

I'm really having big time with the j-pac. Can you help me?

Have you tried emailing Andy at Ultimarc? He's pretty good at tech-support for his products.

Ultimarc explicitly has recommended against the use of PS/2 to USB converters in the past.  The JPAC actually supports USB natively; you just need the special cable.  You might try that.  Otherwise, it sounds like you should check your common ground lines to your switches.
