Title: Noob question
Post by: pithed2 on August 21, 2011, 09:14:47 pm
So I've wired up my cp.  I'm using a Xin-Mo encoder from GGG.  I 'think' everything is wired correctly.  I use the USB connection on my Vista pc.  It identifies it through PnP as a USB Human Interface Device.

So what's next?  How do I get Mame to recognize the USB device as my keyboard input?

Im using a Xin Mo as well and they arent keyboard encoders, they are joystick & button interfaces so they will show up as joysticks in MAME.  Im running mine in XP Pro and havent had any issues at all. Best way to test it out is when running a game in mame press tab and choose the control settings and see if your sticks and buttons register.

I got it working, I'm just dumb.  Is there any way to set joystick as an input for all games by default in Mame32 rather than each individual game?

When you hit tab and go into settings, you should just be able to select the general setting instead of settings, this game (worded something like that)
