Title: Simpsons Bowling
Post by: chewie26 on August 19, 2011, 10:16:38 am
Is anyone running Simpsons Bowling with the sound working correctly? I've tried searching here and it seems like the sound on the rom is just bad, however I came across a youtube video of a guy running it on mame and the sound was fine. Is there a certain version of the rom or version of mame that it runs correctly on? I have the GQ829 UAA rom.

thanks

MAWS shows the sound emulation listed as imperfect.

never saw that site before, thanks for the link. I'm going to check it a bunch of stuff on there.

The Simpsons Bowling Arcade - Homer Shoots 289 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw0EQMJ_X20#ws)

This is the video I found. Mine doesn't play that background music. Should I download the rom again?

Here is the version info:

version added   .080u3
last change(s)   .109

If you have a version from .109 or higher, than there isn't a reason to download it again.  It won't change.  I'm running .94 so I can't help on the sound issue.    :dunno

It works best on a current version, in older versions it might fail / have bad sound.

you just have to follow the usual Konami initialization process.

Simpsons Bowling

To initialize the EEPROM, hold down test switch F2 and press reset F3 once. Do not let go of F2 until you see a message that says "Initializing EEPROM".
