Hey guys,
I'm having a recent issue with getting a time-out error when trying to program my IPAC2. I've searched and seen many people had a similar issue, but none of their solutions worked for me. The weird thing is, I was able to re-program the IPAC2 twice before, but now it refuses.
Reprogram 1: No issues. Reprogrammed quickly and worked great.
Reprogram 2: (A few days later) Started getting a time-out error, but even with that it'd still reprogram the keys (It would say time-out but the keys were changed anyway).
Reprogram 3: (A couple days after 2) Time-out error and nothing reprograms.
I'm running Win7 Ultimate and I have the IPAC2 hooked up via PS/2. All the buttons register when I push them so there doesn't seem to be a short/lose connection anywhere. I always run as Admin. I tried reinstalling WinIPAC to no avail. I just recently (within 1 month) purchased this IPAC2 board so I don't think it's an issue with old hardware.
Any insights?
Thanks,
-
Since you have it hooked up with PS/2, make sure WinIPAC is set for PS/2 rather than USB.
I think that might cause the symptom you're seeing.

Thanks for the reply, Dash.
I can confirm that the options are set to the 32input IPAC2 and the PS/2 input. I tested to see what it would do if I changed it to USB option setting and it gave a different error message, Failed to Program instead of Time Out.

Can you ensure you are using the latest WinIPAC version by downloading it from www.ultimarc.com/download.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/download.html). Uninstall the existing version and reinstall with the board connected.
When you mention USB, do you have the USB and the PS/2 cables? If you also have the USB try it in USB mode, again re-install with the board connected (via USB).
Can assist further by email if needed.

Hey there,
I know this is almost a year later, but I'm wondering if you resolved your issue. I'm having the same exact problem you described above.
