Title: VMJ with arcade monitor?
Post by: jimsam on September 09, 2003, 10:20:38 am
My cabinet is about complete. I have an arcade monitor that i will have hooked up this weekend with an ArcadeVGA so i can run windows, and I was wondering how VMJ (Virtual Music Jukebox) will look on it. One problem I noticed with the demo is the fonts are a little hard to read on a regular computer monitor, even different ones unless you make them fairly large. At full screen they look fine.

With the arcadeVGA and arcade monitor.  Almost any program that will run at LESS then 640x480 will look good.  640x480 is an interlaced resolution (draws 1/2 the lines.. then the other 1/2...)

I THINK the best resoltuion is 640x288 or something weird... but 640x240 might be available.

So if you can't set the resolution to that, you might be out of non-flicking luck.

I was running VMJ on my arcade monitor at 640x480.  It looked ok.  Digital Jukebox looks better cause you can remove some of the stuff that creates flicker (i.e. white oblects), but has a stange bug in it that makes you lose a day of your trial period everytime your restrat the program.  I burned through that in about 5 mins while changing configurations to see what looked and worked good. http://www.rastaworld.com/index.php (http://www.rastaworld.com/index.php)
