Title: Groovymame help
Post by: gms1975 on August 13, 2011, 07:26:09 pm
I recently installed the newest version of Mame .0143b.  I want to install groovymame to get rid of the nag screen.  Where do I download this to and run it?  And what else do I have to do.  The only reason I want to do this is to get rid of the nag screens, even though high score save would be nice also.  I'm new to this and have put a lot of hours in on this project.
Thanks for any help.

http://mame.groovy.org/ (http://mame.groovy.org/)

I would do some reading up to make sure groovymame is right for you.  Otherwise, you could compile your own, or use cabmame.  GOOD LUCK!!

I just don't get the whole compile you own thing.  I setup hyperspin, downloaded and set up mame .0143b, worked for hours using clrmamepro to update the roms I had, and now I have to figure out how to do this compile deal.  Why is this so complicated?  Is there any simple direction anywhere for compiling?

I feel like I am fairly computer literate, but I have yet to find a compiling explanation/instructions that were understandable to me. I need "MAME for dummies".  :D

I'm assuming that you are both running Windows.

You might want to take a look at Mame Compiler (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=71845.0).
