My cab will have a laptop, LCD, light and speakers. I would prefer one switch on the outside to turn them all on so I was looking at something like this.

If you are using a laptop, you are going to have a lot more options than most people. Since your PC has battery backup built right in, you can simply tell it to turn off when external power is lost. When you want to shut it off, unplug the power (or flip the switch) and you're golden!

You could use a switch like that to turn everything on, but you have to be careful about the turn off. Turning off a computer by cutting the power can be rough on your laptop. You would need to shut it down first.

yeah, the laptop works great for auto off..I have it go into hibernate if it's on battery for more than 5 minutes so I'll just kill the power and it will go off on it's own. The only issue I have solve is how to turn it back on which I'm able to figure out.

A lot of computers have a power up when plugged in setting. I would start by checking your bios options.

Desktops do but laptops don't since they usually are running on battery. The only option in my BOIS for power on is LAN and I was unable to find how to take this.

You will need to somehow extend the power switch on your notebook to the outside of the cabinet.
