I need a capacitor replacement for this one. No luck at Radio Shack. Any ideas?
It came from a tanning bed.

That is an X2 safety capacitor. Do not substitute anything without this rating. These types of capacitors are designed to be placed directly across the AC utility lines and contain several features to prevent fires and similar hazards. Radio shack probably won't have them, but they're readily available online. The key specs are capacitance (must match exactly), voltage (could be higher than the original rating, but in this application you should try to match it exactly if you can), and finding something that's the same size or close enough to fit. Of course, make sure the replacement also bears the X2 safety rating.

DON'T DO THAT.
That cap is probably straight across an AC line. Cutting it out and twisting the wires together would be like shorting a household outlet.
Now, it's entirely possible that it's not a required component. Many of those kinds of caps are used for EMI filtering. However, with no other info, assume it must be replaced exactly.

i may appear open >hope<,but if it read's dead short
then it is done,but as a rule this is not your problem
a=is it a switch mode power supply ?
b=or dose it have a power transformer ?
c=is this supply blowning fuse's ?

I didn't say it was definitely used as a line filter, I said those kind of parts are often used as a line filter. There's no context, here, so who knows what it's used for.
Regardless, I can't think of an appropriate instance to do what you indicated (remove and short). I can think of many cases where doing such a thing to a component like this would be very bad. Replacing it with a standard film cap would also generally be a bad idea. X2 caps don't get spec'd "just because".

Class X is for applications where failure could not lead to electric shock (hot to neutral). Class X1 capacitors are intended to operate safely even in the presence of spikes on the mains supply of up to 4 kV (installation category 3 or overvoltage category 3 according to IEC60664), which are normally industrial supplies, but some standards call up class X1 capacitors if they are connected directly to the mains supply upstream of the equipment fuse, irrespective of the type of mains supply. Class X2 capacitors are intended to operate safely even in the presence of spikes on the mains supply of up to 2.5 kV (installation category 2 or overvoltage category 2 according to IEC60060), which are normally residential, commercial and light industrial supplies. X capacitors can be found from 0.001 uF to at least 10 uF and are only made in film.
