Hi gang,
I'm going back and forth what to use for my first project. Either a PC with MAME or a game console like an XBOX 360. I think I've read enough that I'm going to skip the X-Arcade tankstick and try to build my own control panel. But I wasn't sure what considerations I'd need to take into account (A/B switch?) to have the controller interface with both systems.
At first I thought maybe I'd go with something like this below for the xbox system and then get a cocktail system for MAME, but I really want to do golf games like Golden Tee and Tiger Woods pGA Tour Online with a trackball and I'm not sure those would work well with the cocktail style system. Hence why I'm wondering if I should try and put a game console and PC in a cabinet like the one pictured below.

Hi amheck!
I'm in a similar situation, or I was. For my 2nd project i've started building a candy style sitdown cab.
A cross between a vewix / astro city style cab, and I'm putting in a PS3 (for MVC3, SSF4 etc) and a small PC (for MAME).
I haven't purchased one yet but will get a USB/KMV switch , they allow you to control 2 (or more) computers with one keyboard/mouse.
OR for our needs, 2 game systems with one control panel, great!
ps. wise coice regarding the tankstick. :)

Thanks! So the USB switch is really just a 1 in/2-out sort of deal? Seems to make sense.....
Still doing a lot of reading - I just wanted to make sure this was possible, before I got too far in. Would this is a manual type of switch, or would it be possible to get a button mounted on the control panel to control the switch?
