I'm trying to connect a PC to my WG D9200 monitor. Right now I have an arcade PCB connected to the monitor and it's running fine in 15Khz.
I see the VGA connection and I've tried connecting the computer to it, but I get no picture on the screen. It just says out of range... Is there like a dip switch or something I have to set to get VGA to work?

On the side of the board with the VGA connection there are two ports, one says vga and the other says cga? (I'm not exactly sure, but that's the one your wires are currently plugged into)
You should just have to switch those wires to the VGA port and it should work fine.

If that doesn't work, try lowering the color settings/screen resolution from your computer

What signal are you feeding the D9200? It doesn't officially support higher than 640x480, I believe.
You'll probably get the best use out of it with Calamity's modified ATI drivers, if you've got an ATI card:

Thanks, I got it working now.
I've read that the d9200 is known to fail due to broken relays or burnt out components. Is there anything in particular that I should avoid doing? Like should I choose either 15Khz for PCB's or VGA for a PC and then stick with that? Will it hurt it to periodically switch back and forth?
I also read that using the VGA at resolution higher than 640x480 will "seriously shorten the life" of the monitor. Is there any truth to that? The PC I'm using only goes down to 800x600. I can make a custom resolution, but I'm not sure if anything is even happening when I do that..

if the monitor is not designed to be run at those higher scan rates, it might damage a component.
What video card are you using?

I'm just testing right now using my laptop. I'll be using a different older PC which can probably do 640x480. So I'm most concerned about is anything to avoid doing with the monitor (besides resolution issues)

Well read up on groovy mame and the ati drivers. This really is the ultimate solution for arcade monitors right now. It solves so many problems.

flipping modes is not an issue. it's designed to to that with no problems at all.
keep a sharp eye out on the caps though (there is a particularly troublesome set in the middle jammed up next to some heat sinks). these 9200's are known for cascade failure of many many MANY components when they go. i have several chassis that I've spent many hours toiling over and replacing dozens of blown parts tying to get them fixed to no avail. I've even had multiple techs look at them.
also if it does fail...KILL IT! the longer it runs in it's failed state the more components blow, and the less likely you will be able to find them all to get it running.
other than that *thumbs up* good to go!
