I'm going with a 1up design with a 25" display (old tv). Unfortunately to get that all in there it needs to be 6'9" tall :o
Has anyone seen cabs this big? Are they too imposing? The other dimensions are 26" wide and 36" deep (see pic) Comments? Suggestions?

You might want to think about making it sectional or something. Moving it is going to be a pain.

My standard is 68 inches tall.

7' feet tall is too tall. I have a Battlezone, and it is one of the tallest standard cabinets ever made, and it is only 6'3". The thing looks hugely imposing at that height, now imagine adding almost another foot.
Why on earth would it have to be that tall? There is no reason for a cabinet to top 6'. The only reason Battlezone does is because they had to mount the tank viewing thingy at eye level.
My Amazing Maze clocks in at 5' 4".
You must have something wrong with your design somewhere, either your control panel height, your monitor height, or your marquee height is too tall, probably all three.

Ok, I see the problem. Rotating panels shoved the monitor up a good 6" and required it to be mounted almost straight up and down.
In that case I suggest ditching the marquee area altogether. Make the top of the monitor plexiglass be the top of the cabinet. A lot of games used to be like that. My video poker cabinet is like that, as is my Amazing Maze.
Or, make an external marquee box that adds onto the top, like Mappy had, that way you aren't trying to move around a 7' tall cabinet.

when I look at your pic.... you might have a pblm...
you might want to mount your monitor striaght vertical instead of at an angle....
cos the cab is bigger... the monitor is bigger... and now... its forced to be mounted higher.... (thus make a taller cab...)
if you still mount it at an angle.... that means your head will need to be higher in order to see the monitor (at the right angle...)
but then... with the cp at the same height.... that means the distance between CP and monitor is more stretched....
maybe if you let the cp to stick out a little bit.... you can have enough space to mount the monitor at same height....

I have a Crossbow cab, which is one of the larger (and heavier) classic upright cabs. While a 6'-9" cab is quite tall I don't think it'd be too tall.

I forgot to mention that it will be halved with a seam for easier transportation.

Even though I didn't really follow the rest of what you said--this may be the answer if I can figure out a way for this to be done--thanks.
I'm also re-thinking the control panel height to see if I can shave some inches there as well as the tv case--if the front-bottom is beveled it can be moved closer to the CP and therefore down a few inches. I would be happy with 6'4" since my current cab is 6'2"--and by all means, keep the suggestions coming!

what I want to say is....
the cab is big or small shouldn't be a pblm....
if the cab ends up 7 ft or 6 ft 9..... should still be ok...
(if its too tall for kids, then provide high stools...)
but what is impotrant is the angle of the monitor is mounted...
if you look at the left one.... the angle is mounted so that the monitor is facing up... (exaggerated...) then... the guy has to be TALLER to see the monitor straight......
if you mount the monitor vertical.... (right side pic...) then the guy doesn't need to be sitting as tall.....
depends on who is playing your cab....
you need to make sure the guy's hands can comfortably resting on the CP.... and his head is comfortably standing / sitting on stool.... (no need to stretch.....)
or else, it'll be pain to play for a long time.....

I said this because you said in your original post that the monitor is too big to follow the exact 1up's plan.... and the monitor has to be a few inches higher....
if the monitor is mounted higher, it "might" be compensated by mounting a little more close to vertical... then you don't need to stand as tall to see....
or another way is to mount the who rotating panel out a couple of inches... then you have enough space in the cab to mount the monitor the same level... since the monitor is bigger... standing a couple inches behind shouldn't affect gameplay....

If you make a 7' cab, you're going to kill yourself (or the cab) trying to move it. 6' should be the max.
If you want a 25" screen in my design, you're going to need an arcade monitor. A TV adds too much height with the controls and speakers at the bottom, and the overall bulk of the enclosure. Just about any standard 25" arcade tube will fit in my design. I know all the WG monitors will fit, just download the data sheet and look at the measurements.
Watch ebay for 25" monitors, then get an ArcadeVGA card and you're all set!

My Cabinet's overall height is 6' 2" and I think it almost seems a bit short, maybe because when I played arcade games in the wild I was only 4' 11'' they seemed bigger :) ... I don't think 6' 9" would be too tall.

For a "Pac-Mamea"-style cabinet, yes. But a 25" will fit in a "Lusid"-style cabinet just fine.

I actually re-designed the control panel by moving it away from the monitor (as hyiu suggested in his roundabout way ;D) I also changed its geometry somewhat which is what i should have done in the first place but I was trying hard to avoid re-inventing the wheel...er....control panel but i guess i had to anyways. The only draw back is that the raider pro 1up was kind enough to forward me will need some "modifications" to fit this new configuration. The cabinet design is a tolerable 6'4" (which is only 3" above my head and an extra 3-4" deeper. And the marquee is one of the "design criteria" that I'm unwilling to flex on--as is the monitor size and rotating panel. If i have to hack the hacked raider pro--so be it!
I'll post schematics later.
