Anyone Know where to get this button?
I bought a few of these from 1-UP a while back and he had them to replace the thumb buttons on triggersticks
I've been using them for my micro projects and some people have been asking me where to get them, and I have no clue :dunno
Plus I'd like to get a few more myself
Thanks for any info!

Those are the same buttons as used on Midway cocktail games as start buttons.

Close Bob, no Seger.
The one in Bender's pic is SPST, the one at Mike's Arcade is SPDT.
-
if it fit's the hole
it will work fine
spdt is 1 side open 1 side colsed
the center contact just move's between them

Right....they'll work just fine. Plus, those are made by Switchcraft so they are high quality.
-
The one at Mike's Arcade has a diameter of 15/32". What's the diameter on yours, Bender?
-
Saw those in my search, but my issue with those is that it appears to be a translucent red plunder and I'm looking for opaque black
the body diameter is the same 15/32
-
I may have some black ones in my parts stash. How many do you need?

well I'd probably want 10 or so (how may would you be willing to part with?
but I'd really like to be able to find a source
so I can point people to em

Here we go. (http://switchcraft.com/ProductSummary.aspx?Parent=594)
That will get you a little closer. $5.94 each on mouser.com, but they only have 2 in stock. But Switchcraft has a long list of distributors.
-
I was just posting that...
Can anyone tell me what the difference between 1-A, 1-B, 1-C, or 1-D switching is?
Thanks everyone!

Lower left has schematics for 1-C and 1-D.

Oh...I don't have that many I know for sure. I prob'ly have around 8 or 10 in a mixture of black and red. I don't even remember where they came from....just misc NOS stuff I obtained many years ago.

Can you explain the practical difference to me
Will they both work as a momentary pushbuttons?
Looks like this is the best price $3.48 with no minimum quantity (http://www.cbcdirect.com/direct/Products/ProductListDetail.aspx?pik=1127885)
EDIT: argg, not so fast, they have some involved registration process, god I hate that $#!+

Thanks so much!!
I'll probably order some from the above link, and you can keep up your stash, never know when you might need em!
-
1-C looks like it is your standard SPDT (ON-ON switch) just like an arcade pushbutton microswitch, 1-D looks like two posts are wired together giving you a SPST (OFF-ON switch) with three switch posts instead of two (I may be wrong on this, never seen a switch set up like this before). But both are momentary switches.

If you find a place and order some with your order I will be in for 10 or so Bender. Just let me know.
-
Ok, This seems pretty good (http://www.onlinecomponents.com/switchcraft_913x.html?p=12319748) if you order 10 they're $3.32
Not sure about the shipping I'll post back when I get the bill
Hey Minions, you were part of the impetus for this thread, we found em in under an hour, gotta love this Forum!!!!
everytime is see your avatar, I still can't believe they killed Ned off :'(
-
Is the lead time how long if they run out, or do they honestly take 8 weeks to ship these things lol.
"Factory Lead-Time: 8 weeks"
-

Good price if you can use red.....
-
Bender, this link has the same item name but don't know 100% if it is the same. It's the same place we purchased our joysticks from.
http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/1480921-switch-pb-1-cir-front-mt-black-913x.html (http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/1480921-switch-pb-1-cir-front-mt-black-913x.html)
Cheapest if it is right (10 2.52500 25.25)
Looks like they have none on hand though. Shipping estimate says it will take about 4.5 weeks for them to ship if you order from here though. Suddenly that 9 week lead time at that other site sounds like it may be legit. (this one has a link that says lead time and it says they will ship on aug 20th estimated)
Gonna guess its the wrong one though since:
http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/962409-switch-pb-1-cir-front-mt-black-913.html (http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/962409-switch-pb-1-cir-front-mt-black-913.html)
Seems to be the one we want ($4/ea here and 0 on hand). Guess emailing each of the sites would be the best way to figure out if the lead times are legit or not.
-
In Stock: 917 pcs. can ship now.
Shouldn't have to worry about a lead time seeing as they can ship "now".

Thanks for the heads up! I just picked up 4 for some projects!

Turns out these are not in fact the same buttons. (or if they are they have changed the springs in them). My order has come in and needless to say these buttons will not function as arcade buttons. That is to say the force required to push them down makes them essentially useless. Sucks because I ordered some from onlinecomponents and ebay. OC has a 30 day no questions asked policy I believe (as long as the products are in new condition), the guy I got buttons from has a 7 day return policy.
So the new question is, what buttons are these if they are not made by switchcraft? (it's not 903 or 913x which rules out the previous version being a weaker spring)
Hopefully we can find this button once and for all.
Edit-
Went ahead and sent an email to switchcraft to see if they had any input, worth a shot I suppose.
-
^^
what he said... I too ordered some of these and they are not close to the same spring resistance, they would be fine for admin buttons, but no good for gameplay, back to the drawing board on this one
-
I picked them up to use as admin buttons, so they worked out for me, but yes, they are too stiff for gaming usage.

Part# 30-146
This looks a bit like it, not exactly the same though. It is another manufacturer. Manufacturer: Philmore
Here is another one
http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/965604-switch-pb-spst-momentary-1a-8532t1zqe2.html (http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/965604-switch-pb-spst-momentary-1a-8532t1zqe2.html)
Not quite the same either.... or is it? I can't see what the prongs look like on the bottom of your original pic, these seem to be silver prongs though, yours look like a different color. Manufacturer: C&K Components
-
That c&k one looks almost identical and it has a removable plunder like mine. The switchcraft did not as far as I can tell
Probably just have to get a couple to check out the feel
Thanks for looking further into it!

Ok now we have it for sure just got some form Digi-Key and they are an exact match!!!!
Thanks to Minions for doing further research!!!
-
Ouch. $6 a pop.
-
Can try contacting these guys and see if their picture is wrong.
http://www.onlinecomponents.com/c-k-components_8532t1zqe1.html?p=11113673 (http://www.onlinecomponents.com/c-k-components_8532t1zqe1.html?p=11113673)
Same model number for $2.40/ea. Be forewarned I ordered the other buttons from them and they charge $30 minimum if you return an item (which is freaking ridiculous) Also they never respond to any emails as far as I can tell. So the price is good if it ends up being the correct button, otherwise I'd avoid them like the plague.
-
good call I checked the speck sheet and that is the right one , just a stock photo to represent that line of button I think
Great research again Minions!!!!
Keep in mind they do not offer USPS shipping only UPS so the minimum is $10-11
Digi-Key does USPS for like $2-3
So as long as your ordering more than 2 looks like onlinecomponents is the way to go

Have you guys thought of asking any of the distributors for the button press forces? Seems like they are available in the spec for micro switches, so they should be available for integrated switches in buttons. If it's available, it could save you time in waiting for shipments and some money in ordering the wrong products.

Tried contacting them and got absolutely no response. The original buttons we bought were spec'd on this pdf which I see no mention of spring resistance.
