Anything based on the Galaxian hardware gets my vote. Screechy, thin, and icky. No filtering=crap sound.

Phoenix
-
Complete silence. Means something is broken again :hissy:
-
How about the screeching noise from the arcade owner telling us someone is stealing our bikes because we are playing Asteroids continuously for 45 minutes.
I hate that noise.
-
Phoenix
thats an awsome game
-
How about the credit sound in Targ. I love Targ, but that noise is awful.

You're nuts. The 'extra man' sound in Centipede is one of the most gratifying out there!
-
Ms. gabe can't stand the sound of me playing 1942...
-
Chief Thunder in Killer Instinct when he screams Pheonix, or when he dies.
When you do a Friendship in MK, and SHao Kahn almost rolls the r's. "Friendship... Frrrrriendship?"
-
The "skidding" sound in Pole Position is freakin' irritating -- at least in MAME.
I was playing Pepper II the other day; great game, but that music gets extremely annoying in a big hurry.

Absolutely. Incidentally, I actually plugged that exact sound effect in the "cool sounds" thread.
-
changing lanes in Head on great game though :lol
-
The 3-count in Mat Mania. The volume on that game was always cranked so that the sound would resonate throughout the entire arcade so that you would hear it no matter what game you were playing.

Oneuhhh... twooooooo.... THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I can't even tell you how many times I've heard that.

Sterns Ted Nugent Pinball Machine
I like the mechanical sounds, but whatever comes out of that speaker makes my ears bleed.
-
I worked at a public horse ranch and they had Mario Bros. Apparently, when you have a huge hangover like my co-worker always did, getting the coins was the noise from hell.
-
tanya's voice in mortal kombat 4
-
The elephants in Dhalsim's level of street fighter 2, they eventually changed it in the later releases (turbo, super, ultra mega awesome versions)
The worst thing in my hyperspin setup is that the video preview for SF2CE is in Dhalsim's level so I constantly hear that noise and I've been too lazy to make a new video.

I like that little 'blip'.....'blip'. Same kind of sounds the Odyssey2 made. Not complex, but decent bass in them.
I can't think of any game sounds I hate anymore. Used to hate, or at least dislike, many of them. I've grown used to them.

I was just being silly, I posted the exact same response in the 'favourite sounds in arcade games' thread :D
Actually, seriously, I've been playing Crush Roller for the High Score Competition (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=113019.0) and boy, does THAT music blow!
