Hey guys, I am looking to invest in a Tube Tester, and before I lay down some coinage, I was hoping to ask around here, hoping you veteran repairmen could help me out a little bit. What is an entry level tester, that will be usefull on MOST older crts, and some new ones as well? I can only spend at a max, maybe $150-$200 TOPS!!!! Any input here would be highly appreciated.

The B&K 467 is a pretty safe bet. They're common on ebay and fairly cheap. I think I paid around 50-60$ for teh last one I bought. Just a word of caution: You really need to know how to use these correctly. You can permanantly damage a tube by improperly restoring the cathodes.....

I have a Sencore CR70. Make sure head 3/4 is in good condition. That's the most commonly used head for color CRT monitors.
