I have tried setting up mame and a frontend but my lack of computer skills are preventing this.
I do not understand command lines, ect.
Is there a good step by step tutorial anywhere that shows how to set up mame and a frontend ?

Uncle T's guide for Mala
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=56010.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=56010.0)
It's getting a bit dated, but is thorough and covers a lot more than mame.
Even if you don't use Mala, it will help you get all the right files into your MAME folder.
Some of the links might be dead. Just google what he says you need and you'll find it.
When I started messing with this stuff about a year and a half ago, I didn't know what anything about command lines either.
Knowing what I know now, I'd structure things differently than in his guide, but I'd probably never gotten started without it.
It's unreal how much I've learned.....and spent. :-\

If you're a member, perhaps.
Just get MAMEUI, and read the help file. All the way through. Also, MAME hasn't been 'installed' for at least over 100 cycles. And command lines, for the purposes wanted here, are extroardinarily simple.: they consist of a path TO something; or a path to something AND a 'command' - for example: D:\games\mame\mame.exe dkong . This runs Donkey Kong.
