I just ordered a Wells Gardner K7200 19" monitor. I am going to order an ArcadeVGA card this weekend or when they are finished with their holiday. :) 1st question: My cabinet was empty when i got it, so what is the best way to power it? a power supply? or could you hook up a standard power cord to the monitor to plug in my power strip? and what about grounding the monitor? Question 2: wiring the cable. I noticed on the ultimarc website they had a premarked cable that only uses 6 connections. What about the others ones on the monitor like the key, - vertical sync (not +v sync) and the extra ground?

This will help you a lot.

That link may be dead, I've tried all day with no luck. I called Happ Controls and they said "With the k7200 having a built in isolation transformer, all you need is a standard ac cord and you can plug it into the wall" does this sound right?
-
Yeah, that sounds right. Most newer monitors have an isolation transformer built in. So, all you need is an AC cord.
Note for others: An older arcade monitor will likley need a separate isolation transformer.

Hey thanks alot, I just got an email back from Wells Gardner and they confirmed that, luckily I bought the cord from them too, They didn't have a picture or description of it when I placed the order so I just gambled on it. He did STRESS the fact that any older monitors NEED AN ISOLATION TRANSFORMER, and from what I have been reading serious things can happen without one and you can't hurt anything by using an isolation transformer, so if someone can confirm that I would feel better about anyone reading this thread. So I hope no one ever takes that chance.
