Title: Family Guy themed marquee, crap Photoshop skills
Post by: korbitz on June 25, 2011, 05:35:27 pm
Well took my first dip into photo-shop and seriously that is one annoying program to use, seems like every pixel had its own layer

Anyhow, here is my first draft of my marquee for my project, some feedback and definitely some criticism is required.

All images were sourced from google, my art skills on a scale of 0-10 are 0.5  :P

I think i spent an hour just trying to get the right balance between left and right.

Here is how it looks in its place, i have colored my cab in the theme of the marquee, again some feedback on this would be appreciated

I think you are being pretty harsh on yourself! It is'nt that "bad".

You're sketch-up skills are obviously good! I pull my hair out when using that program! Lol.

Have you tried getting some vector images and exporting to photoshop in order to add gradients, etc?

I would be even tempted to do the whole thing in vector format. You could use a style like the attached.

WIsh my sketchup skills were up to yours!

Regarding the marquee, you could try having each set of 3 characters facing the same way to help with the balance, ie. Peter, Brian, Meg facing right and Chris, Stewie, Lois facing left. Just a thought.

Speak engrish man! JK

Still playing around with photoshop, kinda learning as i'm going. Have concentrated lately on my sketchup model and getting it the way i want, with the materials i got.

I am willing to trade my sketchup semi-skills for someones photoshop skills though  :laugh2:

Seriously though, I am making progress with photoshop and should have a draft version within a couple of weeks.
