Title: Mame.exe window and taskbar show up on game start
Post by: jukingeo on June 19, 2011, 10:17:05 pm
Hello All,

I am running Mala version 1.05 on an older Compaq computer and I had noticed that when you start up a game on the list, for a brief moment (about 1 or 2 seconds) you see a black bordered window with a top label that says "C:\Mame\Mame.exe".   Also the taskbar shows up in that same time.  Then you are taken to the MAME nag screens that have you 'move the joystick'.   I believe I have disabled this function in mame.ini, but it still seems to persist.

Since this computer is going in a cabinet, I find this annoying as I would like to remove all traces of Windows as possible.   It would seem that a good fix would be to have the Mala window stay on top.   Would anyone know how to fix this?   It is happening on my main computer as well, as I also tested it there.

Thanx,
Geo

There are options in MaLa on the Mame tag to 'Hide' the DOS screen.

Options - Mame config - basics - Dos Window State

Try that
