Title: GGG NovaGemCDR Coin Pushbuttons - Question!
Post by: Rando on June 17, 2011, 02:02:49 pm
Hi all,
I have these buttons (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=295&zenid=cp0sfbmjlel62n71o8rebmgvm5 (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=295&zenid=cp0sfbmjlel62n71o8rebmgvm5)) which are really nice, I've test wired them and they're functioning.  However I've got a problem with the install.

I've got a temporary coin door (just a board with holes drilled in it) but can't install my buttons because I can't get the big plastic nut off the threads because the bottom section where the LEDs connect (I did remove the white microswitch piece successfully) is too big and gets in the way.  So I can't take the nut off and the button won't go through the hole.

I've obviously missed something here, but the bottem section doesn't appear to come off easily and I don't want to break anything.  What am I doing wrong/what do I need to do to take this button apart for install?

Thanks!

I THINK you twist the cap on the bottom where the microswitch is slightly and it comes off. I'm not near my cab right now or I'd go verify it for you.

BINGO!
Thanks Cot.  For anyone else who searches this topic:

Remove the microswitch
Twist the bottom piece a smidge counter-clockwise, small click may be heard
Pull with a little pressure and mechanism with light will come out allowing nut to be removed

Reverse to re-attach.

Thanks Cot.  Didn't want to force it not knowing what was supposed to happen.  Woot!

Can't connect them at the moment however as wife playing Robotron.  Gah! :D
