Have and AMI r83 that has worked well over the last 2 years, but now is not producing any sound. I replaced the 4 fuses behind the amp, looked for loose connections, but did notice that one of the 4 red light indicators is not lit. I also had a remote volume switch connected, but don't know if that could have effected the system.

Hi Eugene,
What country do you live in?
The amp in the R-83 should be the 125 watt 6-07438-02. The volume control plug does have to be in correct way round.
I assume that the red led you are talking about is on the power supply in front of the amplifier compartment.

Hi Alan,
Live in the US. Haven't had a chance to check on the connections again, other than to verify that the 28vdc light is not on. the other 3 light indicators are on.
Thanks for your help.

no sound problem
no problem! no sound problem!
the 28vdc light is not on
i would check the f1001 (3amp) on the power supply and if it's good, the associated circuit for the 28vdc (bridge rectifier, resistors, diodes etc.)
