Title: choice of screen for my cabinet

hey im deciding on a screen for my cabinet and i was wondering what would be the best looking one to use and operate?
i want to steer clear of lcd screens and what would be the difference in picture quality and setting up between using a really really old colour tv or a year 2004 tv set?
pics below to show what i mean between the 2 tv sets

Lots of reading, and you'll find it. I know it. But I'll tell ya which one I'd pick: the black one.
