Hello,
I have a couple of Dragons Lair marquee plexis from converted machines and I want to remove the old artwork but I having a lot of trouble removing them.
Does anyone have any tips or advice to make this job easier?.

Why in the world are you trying to troll for flames? >:(
It is much cheaper (time&labor are worth a lot) to simply use a new piece of plexiglass.

I may have been unclear with my question. The plexis are from the 3 sided Dragons Lair marquee. They are from Dragons Lair machines which were converted to other games. I wish to remove the marquee artwok on these to put new reproduction Dragons Lair marquees on them. Due to the plexis being 3 sided and unique it not easy to replace them with new ones.

To be honest it sounded like you wanted to take Dragon's Lair marquees and strip the Dragon's Lair artwork off of them. That would be a bad thing (IMHO). If the artwork is painted on, can you use the Novus products to sand the artwork off and then polish the plexi?

I have a question along the same li nes.... How do i remove the marquee from my cabinet? It seems like I would have to disassemble the entire top to get it off.
One more question... How much are the arcade boards (JAMMA boards or whatever you call em) worth for crappy games?

I haven't seen a three sided marquee so I might be off base... but if it's just a triangle, I'd think a score-and-crack using the original plexi to get the lines would do great, even for triangles? (no?)
If not, you can put Lexan through a table or circular saw and it comes out nice and clean, just takes a few minutes.
Or you can remove the artwork... just making suggestions. :)

The DL plexi s is not triangular, it's flat on front with a few inches of each end angled back about 45 degrees. Newly created plexis would need to be heated and bent to exactly the same angles, or it won't fit. I don't think cutting separate sections is a viable option.

My first cab has a similar marquee. Plexi flat at front and then angled back on both sides. The marquee was screen printed on the plexi and was a nightmare to get off until I discovered my wifes acetone free nail polish remover. I tested a very small area at the edge and it didn't cloud the plexi so I stripped the whole thing. It worked perfectly ( very hard work but great result ).

On most games you can remove the marquee by removing a black metal or plastic rail at the top of the cabinet. But not all games are like that.
JAMMA boards to crappy games are usually worth about $10. Unless they are wrestling games, which seem to be worth even less. =)

Oh, interesting... I've never seen that. I never had the pleasure of playing Dragon's Lair in the arcade, just had it for my good ol' C64.

I removed old self adhesive backed marquee "art" from plexi by heating it with a blow dryer and pealing it off slowly, in chunks. With out heating, it was chipping off in tiny slivers.
