Title: How to have an LCD auto power?
Post by: Witchboard on May 31, 2011, 02:57:19 pm
I have a Dell monitor in a bartop I'm building.  It has a rocker switch, so I thought that on would be on, however, it would seem that when I apply power to the cabinet, it goes into standby mode.  I have to manually rock the switch from off to on before the monitor will show the display.  I can't tell you the monitor model type as I've de-cased it and the plastics are long gone.  There are no options provided in the OSCAR to make it power on automatically.  Anybody had a similar issue and know of a resolution?

put a jumper on the power button?

if you can hold down the power button and apply power (or flick the "vacation" switch to on) and it powers on your good. solder a wire across the switch.

if not, you might need to get creative.

It's not a push button, it's a rocker switch.  Soldering across it would do the same thing as the rocker switch in the on position.  I'll try and see if I can get some pics to be more clear.  Thanks for the response.
