The sci-fi movie with Jake Gillenhaal. I enjoyed this, but the beginning didn't engage me fully. It might be because the trailers featured scenes from the beginning more than later on. I dunno.Maybe also the fact that very early on, I realised he was dead. PBJ I am not, but even I could see it. Although the question of when/where Captain Stevens is. There are a few possibilities early on But I did get into it more as the movie went along, and I really enjoyed the ending.
I did like the fact that for a sci fi, it was pretty low key in the CGI. I mean they use it, but it's not a key feature. This movie could have been made convincingly 30 years ago. That's a nice touch.
Not utterly astounding, but it does feature Vera Farmiga in it, whom I have a bit of a thing for (",)

I pretty much agree with your review. We enjoyed it. I intentionally did a media blackout on this one but I agree that the twist was kind of obvious. Did have kind of a rather large problem with the ending...
what happens to the teacher that had his body stolen? the movie has this happy 'it all worked out' ending but I was still left wondering about that. was it okay because he was dead either way? I'm also almost completely certain that there were scenes where they were talking with Jake and they couldn't have seen his text responses on the monitor... ah well...
I thought the actress was Claire Forlani, though. Turns out she and Vera are practically carbon copies of each other.
I agree. Was out for a bit and thought I must add the following:
I liked the ending, even though in the context of the story, it doesn't really tally The concept for the movie is quite believable, but suddenly this whole world on the equivalent of a C90 tape, is somehow real?I hadn't even thought about the poor teacher who misses out on a wonderful life with the cute chick!. There is a point near the end of the movie, which will be obvious to anyone who sees it, where it makes perfect sense that it is the end. Maybe they decided that wasn't enough? But like I say, even though the ending is incongruous with the story, I still liked it (",)
