Title: Killer Instinct 2 monitor help
Post by: postmortem on May 29, 2011, 05:18:37 pm
I have a Killer Instinct 2 arcade and when I set the position of the screen it stays, however sometimes when I turn the machine on I have to readjust the screen position. The top of the screen comes down half an inch or so and a lilttle to the right. What would cause the monitor not to remember the position? Its the original monitor that came with KI2. Its a wells gardner 7400 I think. Thanks

Update... I turned off the machine and turned it back on 30 minutes later and it was back to being too low on the screen. this time instead of fixing it I jusdt played the game for 5 minutes and the picture corrected itself. I guess I have to let the monitor warm up or something. Is this the sign of a failing tube? is there any way to fix this so its perfect when you turn it on? would a cap kit help?

cap kit.

when caps are old... when cold, they are waaay out of spec... as they warm up the get closer to spec.

cap kit should fix it right up.

Try adjusting the vertical hold control.

Oh, and those pots... Are rated for about 200 cycles. If you often tweak the adjustment knobs, they may be getting worn out.
