Looks quite interesting. Anyone played it yet? I read about it last year and was quite excited about how much effort they went to. For instance, since L.A is quite different now to what it was in the 40's, they did a lot of research into which roads didn't exist then, which did and don't now, which shops were where etc.
I don't have a machine that would play this though. Might be something I try years from now when everyone else has bored of it and I pick up a PS3 at a garage sale for 50 bucks...

A friend of mine works at Rockstar(developer) and he said it was a blast to make, and they have been working on it for years. Says the gameplay is insane, the motion capture is top notch, and the missions are really fun to play. I still havent even played RDR, I havent beat GoW 1/2 to play GoW 3, so I wont be playing this for awhile.

I'm about a third of the way through the game and I really like it. It's NOT a GTA game, which seems to be what some people complained about if they didn't know a lot about it.
That said, the pacing is really cool, the missions/cases have been really interesting so far, and its almost a modern take on a point-and-click adventure in some ways. The facial animation is like nothing I've ever seen before in a game, and I already get the feeling that it will spoil me on other games. This technology has to move into all AAA game titles in my opinion.
The city looks great, and does a lot to feel alive. I'm hoping to find some time over the holiday weekend to get some more time with it. I'd recommend it.

Ummmm....Team Bondi is the developer.

From Wiki:
"L.A. Noire is a video game developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games[11] and published by Rockstar Games."
I would say you are both right. :D

Yes, I only just discovered it was a collaboration between an Aussie developer and Rockstar. I like what I'm hearing from you guys. I can't wait for that $50 garage sale PS3 (",)

I read the reviews (and also what's been written here) and I've heard nothing but good things. I'm a little back-logged with games right now but I think I may pick this one up eventually...

Same here Vigo. I know they didnt do it alone, I just didnt know the name of the other company they were collaborating with. From what my friend told me, Rockstar San Diego is the Rockstar they are referring to in the partnership with Team Bondi.

I'm glad they didn't produce a 'Bondi Cigar' (Sydney-siders will understand ;D)

I finished up the main story in LA Noire a few days ago and had an absolute blast the whole way through. Strong cases throughout and a good ending. I enjoyed it enough that I already started going back to the free roam to get collectibles, and can't wait to do the 2 DLC cases already out.
If you're at all curious about it, give it a shot. It's a really great game, though it's a lot different than most games on the market today in terms of pace and overall mechanics. Keep your mind open and don't expect GTA in the 1940s and I think you'll have a good shot at liking it.

I've heard this, that you shouldn't expect GTA. Just more selling points for me. I likes me some pace (",) . If I had a system to play it on, I'd be all over it...
