Hi,
I want to create screenshots for my non-mame emu's that are missing.
What's the best way to do this and how? ???
Thanks,
Scott

Ctrl+alt+print screen on your keyboard, then go to paint, use the paste comand and save as you wish.

How do you shrink it down in paint?
I took a capture and it made it 1024 x 768 and it doesn't show up in my frontend.
When I change the property to something like 512 x 480 it just cuts off half of the picture.
Is there any kind of automated program that will take a snaphot and rename it to the rom and size it properly?
Thanks,
Scott

I dont know what front end you are using, but Maximus Arcade has a feature where you can set a custom screen shot button. The front end takes the screen shot, saves it to the name the rom, and places it in the necessary folder (so the screen shot will show when I am scrolling through my games list on the cabinet).
This is what I use to get screen shots for my non "no-intro" or MAME sets, like pc games.

That's exactly what I was looking for.
I'm using the Mala fronted.
I don't know if it has that feature.

Sorry, Im not a Malla user. Wish I could be of more help.

You could install Picasa from google.. While it's running it watches for the Print-Screen button and auto saves it to .BMP, which can then be cropped/resized after the fact in the program.

To clarify:
When you take an 'OS' snap and put it in Paint, you need to paste and go to image>stretch/skew, and put in a percentage relative to how much smaller or larger than the original image size you want.
Also, only 'alt+printscreen' is necessary.
There may be a small application someone has created and posted somewhere that does what you'll need, just google. I found this (http://gxdevelopment.com/screen-capture.aspx#Description), which might do what you want...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. :)
For now, I just loaded up Maximus Arcade to get my screenshots for the non-mame emulators for my Mala frontend. Its been working pretty good that way.
I'm going give paint another try and download that Capture View program when I get some time. I need to know how to resize and manipulate graphic files in the future.
Thanks,
Scott

You really should look at Picasa. It does all of that with a very simple interface.
Capturing your screenshot will be a single keypress, and then you can batch resize everything in another single operation.
