Umm perhaps you should post a link or something so we know what the hell you are talking about.

Wode? Never heard of it.
It's a pretty package on what can be done via software mod easily.

Basically, the ONLY benefit of the device over current methods is as crashwg said. You can put your old GameCube games on the HDD.
From what I've read, softmods and even modchips will never have the capability of doing so.
It would be nice to make my GC games ISOs, but it's not worth the cost of a WODE.

Actually this isn't true..... While it will be impossible to rip GC discs directly on the wii, using a pre-existing image and running it on an emulated version of IOS is possible, it's just cumbersome and not worth it... much like the wode.

Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Bottom line is it probably will never be implemented, even if it is possible.
sounds annoying. I think it's too bad that the homebrew seen hasn't started taken advantage of sdhc cards. I bought a 16gb sdhc card for uloader (runs wiiware games), but it can't read an SDHC card, only an SD card =/ lame!

Now that IS a hardware problem. The wii doesn't navtively support sdhc... it can be added to various homebrew apps, but it requires an unofficial software emulation layer that is buggy and doesn't work well.
Serioulsy though, in what way is a sdhc card better? A 16 gig card can cost a decent amount of money, where you can get a 500 gig or more harddrive and an adaptor for around 60 bucks.

last I checked uloader only can be used via sd card, or burned onto dvd. Hmm or is there a way to install on external hdd?
