Hey just a quick observation I have discovered with windows 7 64bit, I have found that when ever I am scrolling through my games I will get an error and it will crash mala, its not a problem with the layout as I have the exact same setup on a xp machine and have no problems whatsoever its not important for me as im going to be useing the xp machince to run mala, Just thought I would make anyone who cares awear of it, and was just wondering if anyone else has been affected by the same problem.

I am using the same version of Windows and the same version of MALA.
I was getting crashing. noticed it happened with specific games. checked the log (which the error message suggest to check). looked like it was trying to draw something. switched my layout to a custom one which does not have any artwork displayed (just a gamelist) and problem does not occur. I am getting some new artwork together, but I have yet to see whether I am missing a default images for the games which are missing them.
in short: I also received crashing and the cause of mine seemed to be missing artwork.
P.S. I also get crashing if I run the screen saver. Haven't looked into this second problem yet.

I occassionally get something similiar, seems to hang as a result of trying to load a video while I'm flipping through games quickly
The thing is, when I restart mala, it comes back to the game that it was last on, and the vid plays just fine, so it would appear to be a timing thing of some sort.

Hmmm
I have changed the options when MaLa crashes that may help get to the bottom of issues like this

Bit late on this, but I was having similar problems on Win7 64bit with Mala crashing when I scrolled to certain games and tracked it down to those games having 1x1 pixel snapshots. (I think they maybe came from protetto-snaps, tho I do have some old MameUI snapshots mixed in so they could be from those.)
Try deleting the snaps for the games that are crashing and give it another go...
