Title: Wiring additional controls to Slik Stick - IPAC
Post by: JRoz on May 13, 2011, 03:15:39 pm
Not sure if this is where I should put this but I dont really see a category that fits it..

I currently have a Slick Stik Quad control panel and i'm thinking about adding hacked xbox 360 controls to it.  I'm turning my showcase cabinet into a 360 platform so I need to get these in.   Instead of going and getting a new control panel I want to add them to my slik stick, so I plan on just keeping them in the case and wiring them up.   This is my question though....

I have all of the leads hooked up from the IPAC directly to each push button...I'll be getting the hacked 360 controls all wired up to a small lead box with which I can wire to each of the push buttons.  Instead of running the new xbox leads to each push button, can I tap into each of the existing leads with wire taps from the IPAC?  So basically Instead of going directly to the push button I will tap into each wire that is already there basically sharing the connection?   Let me know if this is possible, or if I'll need to connect to new push button terminals directly and disconnect the existing Ipac ones.

thanks,
Jason

To the best of my knowledge that should work. Seems it would be real easy to test.

yea I plan to try one button and see if it does..my only concern was if I plugged the IPAC controller into my computer by accident or into the wall....for example the joysticks glow so I have a 5v usb to ac power adapter I wanted to plug into the wall, or if I just wanted to plug it into another computer I wouldn't want it to mess up the IPAC or the controllers.  Any risk to drawing to much power or surge or anything..not really sure with this kinda stuff :)
