Title: Space around the cab ('standing space')?

How much 'standing space' should I have to the left and the right of my cab?  It's ~26 inches wide, 24" control panel. 

I'm going to rearrange my basement (aka 'the room that should be mine, but isn't because my wife won't let me turn it into a total mancave') to make it fit, and I'm wondering if a catercorner setup is best, how to fit around my tv, etc.
