I have a Killer Instinct cabinet with a PC hooked up inside using a Jpac and ArcadeVGA card. I have it all hooked up to the cabinets native monitor which I believe is a Hantarex Polo monitor via the ArcadeVGA's VGA output, but I also am trying to connect a standard Dell TFT monitor to the DVI output to use in the extended desktop configuration so that I can work on the system, adding roms etc, using the Dell monitor.
The problem is, at the moment I can only use one monitor at a time. If I leave them both connected and boot up the PC, it defaults to the Dell monitor, causing me to disconnect this monitor and reboot the PC whenever I need to use the Arcade monitor. If I enable extended desktop in preferences and click apply, it simply deactivates straight away. I can never get both monitors to work simultaneously.
I would be very grateful if anyone could offer any advice on how to achieve what I want.
Thanks.

often videocards will default the highest quality output as the primary display.
since DVI would be the highest quality on your adapter, there should be an option to swap the displays in the catalyst or nvidia control panel. if not maybe a DVI to VGA adapter will solve this problem by manually switching the output correctly.

Thanks for your response.
I should have stated that the Dell monitor is in fact a VGA monitor, connected to the DVI port via a DVI-VGA adapter.
I have tried to change the settings in the ATI panel, but it only shows that one display is connected, so I am unable to change the default display.

you should have a "clone" option there too as well. i think you can force the output (because the arcade monitor is not going to be detected because it has no EDID) if it's not detected. (been a while since i had an ATI card)

I can't see a way to force it and clone doesn't work. It says on the ArcadeVGA info page on the Ultimarc site that clone isn't supported anyway.
Another issue I'm having is that the external vga monitor that is plugged into the DVI port has a weird fuzzy effect that is in motion and seems to get worse when there is activity going on such as a program loading. I have tried the monitor through a different graphics card using the same pc and it worked perfectly. This is as well as the problem I have with the wavey picture effect I get on the left side of my Hantarex Polo 25 screen(which I mentioned some time ago in another thread), which is only present when it is hooked up to my PC and not when the original Killer Instinct PCB is connected. I have mentioned this issue in this thread - http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=106123.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=106123.0)
I think I will send an email to Andy from Ultimarc to see if he can help.
