Title: Sticky controls with I-PAC
Post by: lordbelial on August 28, 2003, 09:24:11 pm
I seem to be having a problem with my controls using the I-PAC. Every button works but some of the buttons stick and stay on when they are pressed at the same time as another button. The stuck buttons do not repeat but become unusable until they become unstuck, usually with a couple of clicks. I have tried replacing the buttons and looked at the wiring and it all seems fine. Any have any suggestions?

Sure you don't have even the smallest thread of wire touching another thread? Since the current conducts on even the smallest fibre of wire, this will send a current to both buttons.

I originally had this problem until I discovered a (very) tiny piece of the wire was touching another one, (the fibre end bits.)

If it is this case, it might be an idea to re-crimp your wires shorter, so that none of is exposed.

(This is just a wild guess on my part, you can see for yourself)
