Title: More Controller Hacking
Post by: D_Harris on May 06, 2011, 06:50:05 pm
I seem to recall that there was an issue with hacking a USB SideWinder controller that made it more difficult than hacking the game port version, which I've already done, but can't seem to find any reference to this. Is anyone familiar with any problems with hacking the USB version?

Also, I'd appreciate any pointers to hack involving "C" through "F", if any documentation exists.

A) Microsoft SideWinder Game Pad
B) Microsoft Dual Strike
-------------------------------------------
C) Logitech Dual Action Gamepad
D) Logitech WingMan
E) Thrustmaster Phazer Pad
F) InterAct Magnum 6

Thanks.

Thanks.

I'm curious.

I'm surprised that when hacking was all the rage after the turn of the century, there wasn't an instructional database created for various controller hacks somewhere on this site. It's hard to believe that there were so many hack and so little documentation. One would think the more at least the more popular hacks would have been addressed.

The only halfway decent one is StaticX' SideWinder hack and that isn't "perfect". (And perhaps the Logitech Dual Strike to an extent, but I haven't finished studying the links I found).

As a result a project that should take only a couple of days turns into one that can takes a couple of months if you can find/figure out the needed info.
