Title: Soft-15khz problem
Post by: Jackalus on May 03, 2011, 05:40:12 pm
Hello I upgraded my MAME machine from ATI X1550 PCI-E (worked fine!) to AMD HD 5570.

Problem is that now when I set 15khz and reboot the machine (with 11.4 it shows empty adapter info in the soft-15khz for example for 2nd gfx card spot) the screen is split 2 times in the tube(15khz tube) and Catalyst Control Center complains about not finding the gfx card. (Tried with 10.4 too!) When I went to the monitor settings it showed screen has 100hz ?!

Should I use even older drivers (10.2 i used with X1550 I believe). Anyone got experience with Soft15khz and HD 5xxx/6xxx cards?

Thanks a lot. :notworthy:

Edit:
Tried also the DVI port. Forgot to also mention that gfx card names show fine on 10.4 but soft-15khz still fails with double screen.

Tried with as old as 10.2 (oldest one that supports 5570) and no luck, still dual screen It's like the GFX driver breaks from soft-15khz patches :hissy:
