I know there was a chrome stick out there, I think it was called dragon stick or something. Cant find it anymore. How about LED? Is there anyone that makes an LED bat to fit a competition?

I am about to put my 2 used GGG chrome ball top joy bats & 1 blue LED ball top on ebay or the BST section soon. PM me if you are interested.
Anyway if you order from the first link be sure to ask if the item you want is in stock before putting up your money. You may get strung along for a month or two... Those peartops joys are worth the extra dough in case you wondered. GGG on the other hand has always dependable over the years.
PS Dragon stick has been gone for I think at least a year now.

Interesting this comes up. I actually have two of the sticks from what was SlikStik (joys at least), now Retro Arcades. I have the stainless bat top, which is heavy as hell and very smooth, requires the stiffer spring and also a brushed alum ball top that I can switch out as needed. Very light, shortens your throw. Both are great and the company is quite responsive. You can't go wrong with RA or GGG, Randy also has a great shop and products.

Just wanted to add something else. We also have some mirror polished and treated aluminum balls tops for the replacement shafts. These may not hold up as well as the stainless over the years, but they are much lighter. Some folks have opted for a heavier spring with the stainless balls, but that wouldn't be necessary with the aluminum.
I also have some anodized aluminum shafts for the HAPP and IL sticks in Natural, Black, Red and Blue. I'll try to get these up in the next couple of days.

ooo... I might actually be interested in that.
The thing that shyed me away from the metal sticks has always been the weight.

Your saying a stiffer spring than a Happ Competition? Like what?

I find $40 a lot of money for a shaft and top. (smiles)

Just make it rain = $40 x 2

I have considered the idea of having joystick handles bronzed. If baby shoes can hold up to it... (actually I have no idea whether it would work, and of course the bronzed area would have to exclude the shaft, or at least most of it

@SpaceKack
Awesome idea. I'm curious if it'd work. I had a pinball shooter (and some iron shelf brackets) brass plated, but they have to be metal.

I got all excited, I was hoping for a link with translucent BatTops in it. But nothing. I know they must exist somewhere, but where? Am I the only person that wants lighted BatTops? :dunno

Lighted bat tops by Corn Chip - not sure if he's still active or doing it. Not sure if they were blue with white leds or clear with RGB. based on the time frame probably the former.
-
I don't think Corn Chip has done that in a while, or if he even did them in any sort of volume. I searched high and low for lighted bat tops and ended up going with lit ball tops. And now? I kinda hate to admit it, but I kinda like ball tops better....
-
I guess I'll just try to make them myself, now if I only had a paperclip, some duct-tape, oh and a blow-torch. I mean their plastic, right? :dunno
I'm thinking (translucent balltop)+(double boiler)+(ceramic mold made from current battop)=either a fiery mess or "duh, winning" >:D
But really, it's kind of hard to believe that there is something that is not for sale somewhere on the internet.
I'm happy with my lighted balltops, for now, I guess... :badmood:

The stainless tops are serious weight so you need the stiffer spring. When I bought the comp bases, they came with the stiffer spring option if you ordered the stainless tops. I love the smooth feel of the stick, but light certainly has its place as well.

When will these be up on the site?
-
I'll try to get this option up soon. In the meantime, however, the mirrored aluminum balls cost us the same as the stainless ones do, so if you want the aluminum, just order the "Versa-Ball Mirrored Stainless Ball-Top Joystick (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=229)", and in the comments box indicate that you want the aluminum tops. If you want the anodized aluminum shafts, indicate that, and the color, as well.
If you are looking for the aluminum shafts and a Hand-Candy™ Balltop, I'll try to get those up in the next day or so. These will be a little less expensive than the metal balls tops.
