Title: sony trinitron model kv-20fs100 tv cabinet monitor
Post by: gnaps on May 01, 2011, 11:16:35 pm
I have a sony trinitron model kv-20fs100 tv and Im looking to pull it out of the case and use it as a replacement for a Street Fighter 2 cabinet. Its my first shot at a cabinet restore. I know Ill need a chasis which Ill probably order from alva amusement. Any other words of advice would be appreciated.

FYI, it's generally impossible to use standard replacement chassis boards on Trinitron tubes.  They're not compatible with the standard TV tubes normally used in arcade monitors.

You may be able to make things work by using an RGB to YPbPr transcoder and hooking things up to the monitor "as is" just mounted in the cabinet.

I assume this would be the suggested route for this tv then. As i said this is my first restore so forgive me for my ignorance but is it a pretty straight forward connection with the transcoder?
