I'm setting up an old pc to play some older games on. I't running dos 6.22, the dos version of mame .72, and game launcher for the frontend. I'll be using an old 15" monitor that will sit rotated.
I've got the front end and mame to run in the rotated position but have two issues:
1. The snapshots in game launcher frontend do not get rotated. I'm using the png files.
2. How can I bypass the ok screen in dos mame.
Thanks in advance

GL just displays them just as they are on disk. You must save the screen shots while running MAME rotated. If this is too much hassle, use something like ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/www/windows.html) to batch rotate them from the command line.
2. How can I bypass the ok screen in dos mame.
Can't say off the top of my head. It should be in the MAME docs, though.

You disable the "OK" in the mame.ini file. If you don't have this file make one. I think the command is mame -createconfig ??? It's been awhile. :) That won't get rid of the "OK" if there are issues with the game thought (ie. no sound). Hope that helps.

No Name MAME has the options to remove the other error messages too.
Oh, and the command is indeed "mame -createconfig" or "mame -cc" if you're lazy. :D

I found this a useful tool for rotating snaps.

Jeeesus, and I hide my own frontend from the public 'cause it isn't able to rotate the snapshots fast enough itself! :P
Seems to be unpossible to find a free & fast code for this, at least not in VisualBasic. :(
