Title: Emulator list buggy - would appreciate any help
Post by: garykagan on April 29, 2011, 11:05:28 pm
Hello,

when i look at the other emulators list in the optins for Other Emulators I see many blanks now between some of the items.  I see Daphne (for example), then many blank spaces, then Coleco, then blanks, etc.  It's like they are gone. I checked the emulator config and they are all there.  (attached).  I tried to roll back to 1.05 and it got worse.  only one showed in the list.  I tried going to 1.742 and it went back to the orig problem.  When I try to use the mala tree and goto Intellivision which was setup, it now does not show any emulator selected.  like it is gone.  I thought a fresh install would fix, but now i don't know what to do.  I don't want to delete all my configs and start again.

Hi, I don't see you have any other choice but to set up MaLa again if the files are corrupted.
I don't have other reports of such issues.
In other posts you mention other weird symptoms as well.

What I will recommend.
- Never go back MaLa versions with the same config. Newer things have been added that could scamble config (the Other EMU stuff in particular). Better off keeping a copy of your old mala setup. There is also a section to backup MaLa files within MaLa.
- As a general practice backup all you emu stuff to somewhere. External Hard Drives are pretty cheap these days.
