I've had this for my MAME project from several years ago which, sadly, still sits unfinished in my basement. I recently came to the realization I’m never going to finish the project so I’m now looking to get rid of the parts I accumulated over the years. Problem is, I’m not sure whether to post the yoke for sale as a standalone unit and hopefully help somebody out who restoring an original game or to list it as a project piece (explained next) so it might be of use to someone with a MAME project. I haven’t followed the MAME scene for several years now so I have no idea if what I have is still of any use or relevant for a MAME project so your comments are surely welcomed.
To the project piece. While designing my MAME cabinet I built a prototype control panel to test and build the ability to quickly switch between the ROTJ yoke, a Spy Hunter controller and a steering wheel controller (Pole Position). Everything was plug and play meaning that each of the 3 separate controllers all connected/disconnected to project boxes housing the Dual Strike and I-Pac and Opti-Pac interfaces via 9 and 15 pin D-sub connectors. In order to maintain the integrity of the original ROTJ and Spy Hunter yoke/controller Molex connectors I found the correct mating Molex connectors for each and then wired the D-sub connectors wiring to these mating Molex connectors.
Long story short - I spent A LOT of time designing and building this whole set-up and would really hate to just part it out so please let me know if you think there would be any interest for this as a complete set-up. As I mentioned, I haven’t followed MAME for years so this stuff I built may be a dinosaur for all I know. The yoke is 100% original and still has the original Molex connectors so it will plug & play into either a Star Wars or ROTJ upright game. The yoke and Dual Strike hack work perfectly.
