I know this might have been answered before I just couldnt find the answer and yes I searched first haha
I'm going to rebuild one of my old machines to a Mortal Kombat 9 machine (xbox 360). So I want to use the old arcade monitor with the VGA connection from the xbox. Is there an adapter for that?
thanks for the help

You will probably need a little more than that. The VGA connection from the Xbox 360 will default to 480p I think. That's a 31khz mode.
The monitor in your arcade machine is most likely a 15khz only monitor. So the signal from your xbox may not be compatible with your monitor. Now, it is possible to get an Xbox 360 to output an RGB 15khz signal, so it is possible to use an Xbox 360 with a 15khz monitor.
Can you look at the back of the monitor and tell us the model number? That will be the first step in figuring this out.

if ur 15 k monitor can handle composite sync the easy and cheap route would be ripping a 5 dollar xbox 360 scart cable . it provides rgb , sync and audio l+r.
but why anyone is considering hooking up a 720 p console to a screen giving a flickering interlace picture is far beyond my understanding. build or buy a cabinet with at least vga input screen or better . i m using my box with naomi vga , dell ultrasharp 20 inch cocktail , nec xm2960 and sony kdm 32 flat tv.

i built a converter diy style for my 15khz and it looks beautiful. just used the "Xbox_360-HandC-V1_4.pdf" doc to convert an old cable for scart. had to make a circuit using a diagram from the saturn2jamma project to get my sync though. looks great on my 15khz. put some ide pins on the circuit board for kick harness and just mounted to wood using pc motherboard mounting screws after that. i chose to use sf4 madcatz pcbs. that way i didnt need to add resistors for trigger buttons on my padhacks. it was a little work but all the parts were found locally. cat45 cables are great for harvesting wires. i got my fingerboard from a dead jamma board by carving it out with a blade. =/
this is basically what your looking as your only option if you ask me. unless you get a universal video converter or a good monitor that supports high res. a converter will not look as nice as going out through scart though. btw your 360 has to support hdmi already for the scart cable to work afaik.

geez i dunno. its a lot in parts. you'd need to send me two wired 360 controllers and a 360 video cable. preferable a basic or vga (unless you have a real scart but im just going to chop it up anyways.) i havent made a jamma sound amp for mine yet. if i do it will prolly be mono unless i make a custom jamma cable for stereo. (afaik jamma is mono right?) i should send you a pic. i dunno though. i think you could prolly diy. it wasnt that hard. just took a while.
