I am having some strange problems logging in as shell. I think this must be something specific to Win XP Pro because I have used Mamewah as shell for Win2k SP 4 for many years with no problems.
I am using Mamewah as shell and have tried 3 different scenerios with all 3 resulting with the same results.
3 specific problems. Windows loads Mamewah as shell just fine. The 3 problem comes if I exit to the explorer desktop.
1) I am not able to see the mouse cursor no matter which curser sceme I select.
2) Once I have exited Mamewah and load explore I am not able to load Mamewah again. It no longer will execute from the desktop. The only way to get back once I have left is to restart.
3) Mamewah shutdown the computer choice no longer works. It simple logs out to the desktop.
Here are the three solutions I have tried to correct
1) I have tried the old skool regedit method and have manually set the PC to shell. This equals the same problems.
2) Instantsheller also the same 3 problems.
3. Quicksheller also the same 3 problems.
This is just crazy any help would be terrific! Thanks

I don't know what's going on there. I've used Instantsheller with great success, none of those issues occured, in late-model XP32.

Well, thought I had it fixed. Lucky for me I had set a restore point before I started messing with changing the shell. So, I did a restore. Then used Quickshell. Things were working sweet for a couple of boots. Then after about three boots, I ended up with some kind of blue screen that popped up during the boot. It ended with a auto reboot. THen the safe mode choice. Needless to say on the next boot the problem was back.

Well I figured out the problem. It seems to have to do with MameWah version v1.65.. I had recently "updated" from v 1.62b.. I reset v1.62b as my shell and the problem is gone..
Very strange.
