Looks nice...very nice!  Are you going to be lighting lots of toasty fires in that fire place next to your arcades?  You could feel the warmth while playing.

it's an electronic 4 player dart board, but those darts will still put holes in the wall. I am going to place framed corkboard around it. I may paint it black or put some design on the corkboard

corkboard...is that the stuff like in a garage to hang tools with?  if so, that stuff will look really ugly unless you paint it of course!

Consider going to an auction and trying to snag a dead coin op dartboard. They sell for like nothing dead, and you can likely refit it with the electronic dartboard you allready have.

I am also doing something similar with the living room of the apartment I am going to move to, except I wouldn't even consider a pool table, it totally loses out on the space to fun ratio.

Thats peg board. Cork board is made out of cork which is the same material that the stopper for wine bottles are made out of. Fishing pole handles are made out of it some of the time too.

Are you going to have chairs?  Are the pool lights going to block the tv?

Not if you are a good throw ;)
I would actually reccomend real darts. Electronic darts won't always put holes, but when they do they will be big nasty welts. Real darts will definately make holes, but they will be nice and clean. Probably won't even be visible from anything more than a foot or two away. Also, I can never get those plastic darts to stick right. Then, every 6 months, a quick putty and paint and you are good as new :)

I'm going to teh super auctions in october. i had thought about picking up a dead dartboard and trying to fix it. I keep seeing people buy them for $50.oo or less. :)

I love to play pool, so it's def. not a waste of space to me. Plus I have tons of room in this house if I want to add more toys. :)

there will eventually be a cocktail cab by the window with 2 chairs.  In teh meantime I have a padded bench seat that I'll place there.

I think the pool table light may block the TV, but only if you are directly in line with the TV. That can't be helped. It's not the main TV anyway...that's in the familyroom.

The only problem I see, that might conflict with your gaming room might be that the wife might want her living room back! But I suppose she can always have the garage... A living room would look more in place in there than a game room ;)

This is, of course assuming you have a wife... (and a garage...) :)

Also, it's probably not a good idea to keep your 5th Cat behind the arcade machines stuck in such a small crevice. Those things need air and food to live you know, and i'm sure ---Bad words, bad words, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when saint censors you?--- isn't going to be too happy about being chrushed by two giant constant-beeping game machines. :)

If you have any friends who are particularly bad throws at darts, I'd take that plasma TV down from right next to the dartboard...     ;)

and double that if you ever have a drinking party!

they are the plastic tipped darts for my electronic dart board. The picture may be deceiving because there is about 5 feet of space there and i don't think I've seen anyone miss by 5 feet before. :)

wife? huh? What'zs that? ;)  Garages are for cars.. ;)

BTW, I was wondering what that noise was..went on for about 7 days then stopped. Now there is an aweful stench in the room...

Yeah thats a great Idea a bunch of Men Drunk on Beer throwing Sharp Objets at a wall ;) Seems like the perfect candiate for one of those "Dumb People Caught On Tape" reality TV Shows ;)

I have a real dart board and I had it up in my apartment.  There were all kinds of little holes in the wall when I was getting ready to move out.  So the cheapest, fastest way that I found to repair it was toothpaste!  The walls were white, so I just used a toothpick to fill the holes with the toothpaste and when it dried you couldn't even tell the holes were there!!   ;D

Great room!!

My only comment would be about the pool table light.  I have one in my rec room and I wished I didn't.  I have a ping-pong top that goes on top of my pool table BUT the light gets in the way, it makes ping-pong totally unplayable.  I also think that the light is going to get in the way of you watching the plasma TV.

I would do everything in the room first, and then make a cardboard cut out of the light, hang it up and see if you like it.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately I have already wired in the pool table lamp. The TV is not the main TV in the house, I just have it in there so that we can watch sports or something while shooting pool. If people have to take a step left or right to see teh TV that's OK with me. :)

Great idea, until somebody decides to wash the walls.  ::)

Looks pretty cool, but where do you sit to watch the plasma TV?  On the pool table? if behind the pool table, would it be in the way?  And I second the thought about the plasma TV being so close to the dart board; they don't mix well.

Good luck with it!

The TV isn't in the room so people can sit and watch it. It's mostly there to watch while playing pool, darts, video games, etc.  I may buy a "fishtank DVD"  and have that play on the TV as a virtual fishtank.. :)

The dart board is farther away then it appears in the drawing.. :)

Looks like yours is the place to party!  it looks awesome.  Why don't you build in a fiber-optic ceiling too?

Hope you've got something to really block out the daylight from that window because otherwise it will probably hurt the feel of the room a lot.
