What items cant you afford…er, I mean what items are “too high” as we are the wholesaler to many retail outlets. So our prices must belower than retail because we are the supplier to the retail stores!

cant afford.... nice.
I mean Arch Rivals for $750? Donkey Kong for $1500 ? Ever sold one at that price?

Arch rivals has a new 25 inch monitor and retails for $1100.
Donkey kong is restored. That’s totally different. That’s the best money can buy. Its our 3 rd best seller.
Sold hundreds of that. Remember is fully restored. Over $1000 worth of parts alone and 20 hours of detailed restore process. Everythings new. Its better than it came out of the box.
That’s for high end collectors (our specialty)..for the home market we don’t cater to bottom feeders looking to “save a few bucks”..thats what flea-bay and crud-list are for.

We the the high end home collector market and the cheap wholesaler to dealers, locators, operators.

Find arch rivals with a new monitor for less than $750 in fully working condition..id like to see it.

Of course bottom feeders are adept at scouring the internet for the one “that’s a nickel less” and buy that, but you may get stuck with rigged up junk..in that case handg on to our number and well come out for 4150 an hour and fix your “cheap game”!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Im not a bottom feeder, I restore and collect cabs. Arch Rivals cant really "retail" for anything, they have not produced an AR cab in  like 20 years. Game was released in 1989, but I'll give you the fact that 49ways are expensive but its non jamma and you probably replaced the monitor with a cheap Kortek.

As for your DK restore, I'd love to know what you spend the $1000 on. The only things pricey are the boards (and is it a 2 or 4 board set, which rom revision), the actual cab , and the monitor.  I could maybe justify $900 for the DK if it was in the original red ( which were converted radar scopes) and the title screen read "1981 Nintendo" indicating first rom revision.

While I appreciate the banter, and the irony that you insult and use both Craig's list( http://cnj.craigslist.org/vgm/2305421512.html (http://cnj.craigslist.org/vgm/2305421512.html) ) and ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230592785264 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230592785264)) ; I'm confident I'm not the customer for you.

When I get "stuck with rigged up junk" I'll be happy to fix it or ask for help on byoac

Thank you kindly,
Malenko

Does the donkey kong come with a real donkey?  I could see it being that expensive if it came with a real donkey.  Donkeys are expensive, and they are a ---smurfette--- to cram into cabs...

Some ---uvula--- around Denver snagged a Take Five cocktail pinball AND some converted Choplifter for only $250 off CL a few days ago. He immediately listed the Take Five back on CL for $1200 (to which I sent an email offering $250 for ;) but got no response) and now today the Choplifter is on there for $325.... Swindlers...

I find it's usually better to link to the profile (http://myworld.ebay.com/geengi/?_trksid=p4340.l2559) instead of the auction. The auction gets erased after a fashion and it's hard to track them after that.

I love how he responds to almost every negative comment as something similar to: "This guy opened a dispute with Paypal-S*umbag"
And yes he censors the word "Scumbag" every time as if it is somehow a swear word. LOL
And why wouldn't someone open a dispute with Paypal??? Why is he shocked by this? My favorite one is:

PS1 was missing. Horrible packaging with empty water bottle & Coke & Mug boxes.

What sucks more is that on ebay UK, you can't do anything to defend yourself anymore as a seller - they've ridiculously capped postage rates, you can't leave negative feedback for bad buyers, and there is simply no comeback at all, introduced because of complaints about ---Deutsche Frankfurters--- like this guy.

I don't know any collector that would pay for an incorrectly restored machine, let alone at these prices.
Wrong molding, buttons...scratched up bezel...fully restored indeed.

Nice front panel laminate. So much better than the wood grain originals $1,199.99

That's the nicest restored Missile Command I've seen!  Love that top glass artwork - fully tinted glass is so in right now! Those grey glass clips are far better looking than the original black. Also, I love when Atari cocktails are missing their leg caps. Nothing says fully restored than a missing leg cap.  $1,499.99

Oh yeah, looks that way.  I remember you used to be able to turn off your feedback if you wanted a few years ago.  It  would show up as disbled.  When I looked and saw that he had a 0 percent feedback rating, i figured his was turned off but I see that is only for the last 12 months.

People drop their phones all the time and crack the glass. The phone still works, the touch sensitivity still works, the display just looks ---smurfy---. However, I don't think they send them back for refurb. They send them back for a replacement. Or, if out of warranty, etc, they wait to get a new one.

I tried to sell an SD Big Screen TV for $40 on CL a couple of months ago.  Had a bunch of calls with questions and promises to come look at it but nobody would show up.  I could not believe how picky people were being for a $40 TV.  The picture was still great I just didn't have room for it.

I decided to post it for "Free by the Curb" yesterday just to get it out of my garage and it was gone within the hour.

Thats craigslist.

If he didn't say "by the curb" he would've got a ton of questions. I posted an ad for a free broken nintendo cabinet and got questions like:

Can you send me pictures of the back?
Does it work?
Will this also play Sonic the Hedgehog?
Will this fit in my van?
Can you save it till next week when I can get a truck?
Can I come by and look at it in 8 hours when I get off work?

I tried to sell a book for $5. It was a good deal for a school book and I just wanted to get rid of it. The first guy wanted me to meet him 20 miles away because his car is broke and his mom can't take him for a few days. All I use Craigslist for now is to give stuff away.

Exactly.  I also didn't give my phone number or address just the street corner.

I thought $40 wasn't asking too much and figured I'd get a little money for my arcade fund.  Wasn't worth the hassle in the end.  i have to admit I did cop a little attitude about it once I decided to give it away.  I kept the remote and didn't bother answering emails to "hold it for me".   I did remove the ad from CL as the guys were loading the TV though.  Thought it would be rude to leave the ad up all day once the TV was gone.

if i'm buying CL / Kijiji stuff, i call when i have the time to go get it. then i go get it. I also shop for the price i'm looking for... i was looking for x-boxes a while back for about $20. so unless it said $20 or 30 with some accessories or a game or something i didn't even bother to contact.

random guy: Hello?
Me: yeah i'm calling about xxxxx still got it?
RD: yep, it's $40
Me: okay i'll take it, where you located at?
RD: 123 fake street.
Me: okay, i'm in the north end, take me about half an hour to get there.
RD: cool
ME: see you in 30
RD: later
Me: bye *click*

then i drive there and hand the dude a couple of 20's and i go home... no bargaining down the price, no humming an hawing about having to drive 30 mins, nothing. Business. Period. Done.

see how it works? why can't people understand that?

people want crap delivered to them? get real! You want to haggle down a wireless router that's valued at $30 or $40 that is advertised on CL for $10 already... and you want it for $5? c'mon really?

love the ones who show up to buy something for $10 or $20 and want to pay with a $100 bill... do i look like a bank?

I tried to sell a pinball machine to a member here in exchange for a case of Shiner Bock.  He wanted me to deliver it and thought my asking price (~$18) was too much.

I would drive a few hundred miles one way to "buy" a pinball machine for a case of Shiner Bock. That guy is nuts. As a side note, Shiner Bock is the only good thing to come out of Texas, one of my favorite beers.

I take exact change plus an extra $20 or so whenever I buy something.  Tend to get a lot of accessories free or dirt cheap that way.

yeah i have similar tactics. I'll take extra cash and ask if was selling anything else or had anything he wanted to get rid of. if anything interests me, i'll buy. I'll often haggle last second things like that, but if they don't budge, no big deal... i got what i came for.

scored 3 computers for $10. i originally was going to purchase 1 for $10 but he was anxious to be rid of them so he knocked it down to $5 for all of them. he even wanted to give me a bunch of keyboards and mice, but it was a bit of a trek back from his apartment to my van parked out on the street, and carrying 3 computers at the same time by myself was hard enough. shot the guy $10, no biggie.

Not to do that is the first rule of trading.

Much harder to convince someone that you're broke and they should knock off a couple bucks if you're waving around a $100.   ;D

What the Hell is that matter with people?   Are the people that look at CL THAT Fu#$ing cheap????  Or are they just high school kids living of their
lunch money??  Come on people!!!!  Stop be sooo cheap!!

If a man has a TV for $40 only two questions are need.... How big? and Does it work.

Please, people, stop being cheap and pay the man what the item is worth.

That's my rant of the week.

Negotiation is part of online trading/buying, but if it says "price firm", don't try to haggle.   ;)

If it says 'price firm', I figure whether I want it. Usually, I don't, as often they're people who are clueless about the real value of the item.

When I sell things, I often meet them in the parking lot. Sometimes the item is too large....although, arcade cabinets and such are too big for most interested in theft, so I don't worry too much.

As for cheapsters: I was selling a decent desk. A college student came with her dad (TM), and he tried to lower the price I had already lowered before they responded to the ad. I told them, 'Either you want it, or you don't', and stared 'em down.

I don't think I'm ever wrong on the value of the item, but I ain't hurtin ta sell it, either.
